For those who don't know what Shark is--its a procedural law drama on CBS starring the illustrious James Woods as a high priced defense attorney turned high profile LA prosecutor.

Sick of real people always talking about stuff? "Hey here's a thing I did!", "Let's go to brunch", "Is that a dead body!?"

Well forget all about that, because now there's a site where you can watch stick people talk about stuff! They're people made of sticks. Or at least out of wood. And they have a lot of beef with humans for some reason. But they amuse me.

Classic Olde English Sketch - Gym Class

I just came across this classic Olde English sketch --- I think its from when they were still in college, but its still fantastic. They definitely nail both concept and execution.



I think rather than just post videos I'm also going to start saying why they're funny. So my blog, you know, has more of a point.

Why this is funny: an absurd unrealistic situation becomes extremely serious and a situation that has no stakes suddenly has life and death stakes. Also, the style parody of action movies is spot on and really accentuates how unlike an action movie this situation is.

That sentence sounds dumb doesn't it? I guess what I'm trying to say is that the absurd, when treated seriously, only becomes more absurd. And thats all we're after.

Also: why does the bearded weird sweat pants dude keep sticking out his tongue. He's not going to get the ladies keeping that up. I hope 2004 version of that guy takes my advice.
